WRCOG provides planning assistance to local governments on a contractual basis. Available and ongoing planning assistance include: Preparing Comprehensive Plans and assisting communities with periodic updates as required by state law; Preparing Zoning and Development Ordinances catered to address the specific needs and development issues of the community; Assisting in the preparation of annexation studies and environmental assessments; Performing zoning and subdivision administration to include development plan reviews, subdivision reviews, and providing staff assistance to local Boards of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commissions; and Facilitating orientation and continuing education for members of planning staff, Boards of Zoning Appeals, and Planning Commissions as required by state law.
