Below you will find a link to the 11th annual Grand Strand Economic Outlook Forecast. Each quarter Don Schunk, Research Economist at Coastal Carolina University, runs a dynamic regression model based on known economic indicators to produce an initial forecast.
The Grand Strand Economic Outlook Board then supplies significant local knowledge to Dr.
Schunk and staff at the quarterly meeting, which they use to evaluate the projections. This process produces the Grand Strand Economic Outlook Board’s Quarterly Reports and annual forecast. A more comprehensive methodology is contained in the booklet.
